If you like eating pork you may be interested in the countries that eat the most pork per person in the world. Insider Monkey has recently published an interesting article about this topic. As for me, I have a little farm with huge shepherd dogs, hunter dogs, cats, chickens, ducklings, a mini cow and some rabbits. I sell eggs, milk, cheese and some meat sometimes. I do farming beacuse I want to know what I eat. As the saying tells us: you are what you eat. I firmly believe it’s worth investing a little farm, since people in the city have realized products coming from farms directly are much better and healthier. I am planning to grow mushrooms either. Not only because I love cooking and eating them, but yes, they are very profitable. One of my favourite meat is pork. In my country we eat a lot of pork, in the countryside where I live there are pigs at almost every house, so we slaughter them at home.
Then we have enough home-made ham, sausages, bacon and all the delicious meat for winter. We slaghter pigs from november till the end of March. This íear I will buy my pork from my neighbor, I can hardly wait! Then I will slaughter geese, chickens and duck for the winter, and all will go the freezer!
Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three countries that eat the most pork per person in the world.
The first country on our list is Canada, their per capita consumption of pork is 55 lbs. Canada is one of the largest exporters of pork, as well as one of its largest consumers. The second country is Norway, the per capita consumption of pork is 55.4 lbs. Norway has always been a country which had a taste for pork (pardon the pun). However, the country’s overall consumption of meat has decreased when compared to just four years ago. This may be due to the fact that the Norwegian people are focusing on a more healthier diet with reduced meat consumption while ensuring that they don’t forego it completely. At last, but not least we should mention the USA. Per capita consumption of pork is 64.3 lbs., but it’s not enough for the first position.
