25 Best Paying Summer Jobs for 10, 11, and 12 Year Olds

I must confess that the list of the best paying summer jobs for 10,11, and 12 year olds is one of my favorites that Insider Monkey has published so far. At first I may explain why I extremely appreciate this article. I need to emphasize that it’s essential that we should let the children be children. We shouldn’t overburden them with lots of private lessons, or economize every each of minutes of theirs. They need playing, hanging around together, especially in summers. But it’s also important to teach them what work means, why industrious behavior is a must, and how they can spare some money for the future, too.

When I was young we had an opportunity to buy stamps for various prices. Then we had a little booklet and we stuck the stamps into it. We were encouraged to save money and yes, we did compete with each other with my classmates who could save more. Then, if the booklet was full of stamps, we went to a shop and we could buy lots of things. That was the time when I bought my new bed for myself – at the age of 11 – and many other useful things.

Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three of the best paying summer jobs for 10,11, and 12 year olds from their list.

The first idea is Photography. If your parents have a digital camera, this is an excellent way to earn some money. There are many interesting events during the summer, most of them being outdoor, so you will be able to attend and make photographs. If the events include small children, you can offer the photos to their parents and earn from $0.5 to $1 per one, which is a cool idea, and you get to have a lot of fun! The second idea is Selling lemonade. The hot summer days are an excellent opportunity to make a small stand in front of your home, or any other place where there are many people, so you may offer them refreshment for around 50-75 cents per a cup. Don’t forget to have both, sugared and non-sugared lemonade, so you may sell it to everyone. If you sell 20 to 30 cups a day, you can make great daily allowance. The last tip for today is Selling cold water. During summer there are a lot of outdoor events, and if some of those are happening near your house, make sure to earn some money. People may live without everything, but water. If you set up a stall with several boxes full of ice and if you put bottles of water inside, you may earn a lot of money. $1 per a bottle is more than enough to earn a lot.
