10 Companies that Offer Health Insurance for Part-Time Employees

The whole trend of working part-time made some companies to provide the benefits for their part-time employees like the ones that people with the long working hours have. Today, I am going to present you 10 companies that offer health insurance for part-time employees.

Although obligated to have all of their employees reported and offered insurance, maternity leaves, and paid vacations, many companies are doing their best to find the whole in the law or even take some illegal measures when it comes to hiring. They are sometimes even giving the lower salaries than they are reporting to the government and, for some reason, employees are still protecting them, especially the ones in a big need for a job.

Because of all the house and family, or even school chores, people are nowadays choosing part-time jobs, rather that 8-12 hours shifts. Although the salary is a bit lower, they are still having the time to finish everything and make some time for family, friends, and themselves. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 20.5 million people working part-time jobs in June 2016.

Of course, part-time jobs are the most frequent during the summer, especially among high school and college students, after the school is over. Some of them are looking for some part-time jobs just to make money and kill the time, so they are looking for babysitting, dog-walking, or landing jobs, while they are the ones looking for a job at some coffee shop and/or company as the assistant.

Besides students, the group that is most commonly seen as part-time employees are mothers. Since they have kids at home, they are aware of the fact that they are not entitled to take a 12-hours shift until their children are old enough to take care of themselves. Since some of them were too much independent before they gave the birth to their child, they are not used to sit at home all day and wait for their husbands to give them an allowance, like when they were kids. So they decide to take a job, but, because of all the chores that are waiting for them at home, they are focusing on jobs that don’t require that much time.

But there are some companies that have enough empathy and understand that their part-time employees didn’t take the job because they are lazy, but because they are overbooked, so they started treating them equally as they treat full-time employees, just with the lower salary, of course. They are aware that, the benefits that all people need are insurances and maternity leaves. So let’s take a look at 10 companies that offer health insurance for part-time employees
