As for me, I tried cigarette when I was five, I think. My elder brother encouraged me, and we smoked from our father’s cigarettes. It was horrible. I coughed, my eyes were in tears. However, my father smoked one of the strongest cigarettes ever. It is a well-known fact that smoking can cause lung cancer, and many other serious and fatal diseases.  In addition, their advertising has decreased compared to previous years, as well as the sales rate, according to Federal Trade Commission Cigarettes Report from 2013. However, even though the public is well introduced with anti-smoking campaigns and movements, there are still a big number of smokers all over the world. I am afraid I smoke, too. It is very interesting because I began smoking only three years ago. I smoke menthol flavored cigarettes, which is eventually the most popular flavor.

We have picked three cigarettes brands from Insider Monkey’s list: Maverick, Newport (menthol), and Lucky Strike. Tar content in Maverick is 19, and it contains 1.3 of Nicotine. Besides nicotine and tar, a package of filtered Maverick cigarettes has 18 milligrams of carbon monoxide. Its original brand was Harley Davidson and it is owned by ITG Brands LLC. They are made in USA and Austria. The second one is Newport (menthol), its tar content is 20, nicotine 1.5. Newport comprises around 35% of menthol cigarettes sales in U.S. It was introduced to the public in 1957, and it is one of the largest selling brands in African-American market. This hard pack consists of 18 mg of carbon monoxide. Lucky Strike is a famous cigarette brand; it has already been smoked in many American films. But doesn’t belong to the light cigarettes as its tar content is 21, and it has 1.2 of nicotine. Right before the World War II., during the 1930s this brand was the most popular one in America. It is owned by the British American Tobacco groups, and it has always been considered as one of the strongest cigarettes. The amount of carbon monoxide of filtered and full flavor hard package is 12 mg.
