Electric cars will account for 20% of all new cars sold globally by 2025. Internal combustion engines will be replaced by battery-powered automobiles by 2040. By 2050, Wood Mackenzie expects an increase in the number of electric vehicles on the road worldwide. According to a study conducted by UBS, this rate will rise by another 20%. The worldwide electric car industry is being driven by key manufacturers such as Tesla, Ford, and General Motors. Volkswagen AG says that by 2030, electrified vehicles will account for 70% of all sales. With its new battery pack architecture and new battery cells, Toyota is working on a $25,000 electric car.
