What are the best opening lines for online dating messages? Insider Monkey recently published an article about this topic giving us some very useful tips. As for me, I have tried online dating, too. I must confess it was pretty exciting.
The life of a single guy or a girl in the online dating world is tough. Although there are lots of dating sites and apps to choose from, the competition is fierce. Any strategy you try be sure that someone already tried it. Probably on the person you are trying it on. So what do you do? It can sound cheesy, but it is always better just to be yourself. This is of course if you are looking for something deeper. If your goal is a hookup, then be the best fiction version of yourself and run away before you blow up your cover. As in all things in life, the first step is always the most important one. If you don’t get many responses, your opening lines probably are not any good and when you do get a response you blow it up, so pay attention.
Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three tips from their list.
No matter what you are writing about but do not forget to make your letter personal. The first tip can be a very simple one: “Hey! When did you watch *insert band name here *? I love them!” It goes well with the books, movies and TV shows as well. If the person to whom you are writing loves dogs (like me for example – I also have dogs) you start your letter with: “Hey there, this message is for your dog so please pass it along…Hey buddy! If you and your momma ever wanna go for a stroll in the park…holler!” Used the dog to your advantage. At last but not least you can be straightforward. For example the way like this: “You seem really fun and sweet. I would love to call you and see if we are compatible.”No beating around the bushes, cut to the chase. Now it’s your turn to find someone to write to, and begin your big adventure in online dating!
