This article will bring you to the list of the countries with the highest medical research spending. Insider Monkey has recently published an interesting article about it. Although the USA once accounted for over three-quarters of the world’s research disbursement, its share has continued to increase in recent years, whereas countries in Asia saw a dramatic increase that we can see in any r&d expenditure by country 2016 report. We also looked into the r&d expenditure in India. In a study in the New England Journal, researchers found the U.S. comprised 51% of world research spent, at $131 billion in 2007. However, by 2012, that range dropped to $119 billion, or 45%. By comparison, Japan and China enhanced their outlay by $9 billion and $6.4 billion during the same time. According to global r&d spending 2015 and china r&d spending 2015 report, Japan and China accounted for 13.8% and 3.1% of the world’s total research spending. Meanwhile, countries like Japan and China saw a surge in investment from the non-public sector. Business contributions to research outlay in China raised from $1.5 billion in 2007 to $6.3 billion in 2012. In Japan, such investment enhanced from $6.7 billion, to $27.6 billion in 2012.
Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three countries with the highest medical research spending from their list.
The first one is The United Kingdom. It is no wonder that the U.K. made its position on our list. This country has total expenditures on research and development of $44.8 billion. The second country on our list should be Germany. The quality of health care in Germany is a lot of proud for their government to takes in. Apparently, they also spend a pretty penny on research as well. At last, but not least we are mentioning China now. China is increasing their budget for medical research each and every year. They are not very far away from Japan to compete. Many private companies have the intention to open a research center in China which will change the whole situation. Very soon we will see China in the first place with the highest medical research spending in Asia.
