10 Countries with Most Inventions Per Capita in the World

If you like to read about inventions, Insider Monkey have an excellent compilation for you – countries with the most inventions per capita in the world. What is invention? “An invention is an outcome of any idea, device, method or composition of a process. It may be a new development or further improvement of the existing design.” I find this to be a good definition because it talks about the process; not all inventions are what they were meant to be, things change in the process. It also implies that the evolution of an invention also counts as one, which is why you will see that some items are featured in several countries’ lists. It’s so silly, they’re all fighting over who invented TV, when they actually did it together. This says a lot about how the world works. The one thing this definition is missing, in my view, is “findings”, which I consider to (sometimes) constitute inventions as well, because not all of those are intentional. What makes an invention out of a finding is awarding it a purpose. If you need an example, think of penicillin.

Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three countries with the most inventions per capita in the world from their list.

The first one is the USA. When it comes to the technology country ranking, the US is without a doubt in the first place. The Scientific American informs us the latest American inventions are blasting rocks and the machine for turning bags. If that doesn’t sound impressive, then what do you say about 3D printing? Originally the US made. The second country should be South Korea. It’s not just K-pop that comes from this country. Touchscreen mobile phones were their idea! Also, remember when you wouldn’t leave the house without your mobile MP3 player? But inventions aren’t only about the latest gadgets. What do you think about the snail creme craze? Indeed, it’s their idea! At last, but not least here’s Japan, of course. When you think of the latest advances in technologies, Japan somehow pops into your mind, doesn’t it? Especially with the latest discoveries in robotics. It’s definitely one of the countries that have contributed the most to the world, right? Japan has always been a synonym for the innovation and inventions, and some of them are considered to be pretty weird by the rest of the world.
