10 Largest Potash Producing Countries in the World

Potash is an essential material for those countries, who depend on agriculture, so we decided to investigate the 10 largest potash producing countries in the world.

This industry is worth more than $400 million in just the US alone. Potash means a certain salt which includes potassium. It is mined underground, and it origins from evaporated seabeds. Potassium is among the most essential elements in the world, and it’s also important for survival, since every organism needs it, not only humans, but animals and plants as well. It’s really true, as this summer I added some potassium (and other elements) to the water, and my kitchen garden grew incredible tall, and I had lots of vegetables and fruit this year.

Therefore, it’s easily conceivable that the primary use of potassium is in the fertilizer industry, since it’s used to get higher quantity of harvest. Most of the used potash in US derives from New Mexico where there are two companies that produce potash in underground mines. Acutally, 50% of the potash sales in US comes from New Mexico, but Utah also produces potash in large quantity.

Potash is exported to many countries in the world, and perhaps there’s not a single country where we wouldn’t be able to buy it. And now, without a further ado, let’s see the 10 largest potash producing countries in the world. Let’s start with the 10th:
