Let’s proceed to the list of countries that consume the most chocolate in the world in 2018. Insider Monkey has recently published an interesting article about it giving you sweet review. chocolate’s popularity can’t be attributed only to its delicious taste. In today’s consumer society, it must be noted that people are encouraged to eat more sugar and chocolate bars than ever. Successful, funny advertisements do their trick, and women are also lead to think it must be chocolate they’re craving once a month. We are all eating much more sugar than we’re supposed to, and chocolate bars are so convenient. How could something so small have so many calories? Well, it does, but we love it nonetheless.

Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three countries that consume the most chocolate in the world in 2018 from their list.

The first one is Poland. The Polish have a sweet tooth, and they’re expected to eat their way to the 7th place in world chocolate consumption in 2020. The next country on our short list should be India. And you thought that Indians care more for something savory, like curry. Chocolate is also on their menu. 228 thousand tonnes of it, to be more precise. For the third one we are mentioning Austria.Their  chocolate revenue is $998m in 2018, and it’s expected to become even higher in the years to come. At last, but not least here come the USA. Statistic forecast says it is the US which is going to be the biggest chocolate consumer in 2020. Their import from Switzerland is a bit lower than it used to be, but perhaps it’s due to their own successful production. Mars and Mondelez International are the best when it comes to the income from net sales.
