In order to make their list, Insider Monkey has consulted sites like US Bureau of Labor Statistics. We have picked three highest paid doctors in India in 2017  from Insider Monkey’s list.

At first there is Dr. M. G. Bhat. As one of the most popular surgeons in Bangalore, Dr. M. G Bhat was earning Rs 50,000 per operation in 2006, according to India Times. His patients were waiting at least 20 days to be operated by one of the most respected general surgeons and laparoscopy experts. Dr. Bhat runs his surgery clinic in the luxury part of Bangalore. The second doctor is Dr. Ashok Rajgopal. Dr. Ashok Rajgopal is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in Delhi. According to India Times in 2006 he has been working at the Fortis Hospital and earning from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000 per operation. Apart from Delhi, he also travels to other countries to give surgeries and share his expertise. He has been to France, China, Australia, etc. During the eighties, he was one of the pioneers of arthroscopy, and he also treated two presidents of India, Kocheril Raman Narayanan, and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The third doctor on our list is Dr. Sudhansu Bhattacharyya. According to India Times, Dr. Sudhansu Bhattacharyya was earning at least Rs 3 lakh per operation. He is one of the most popular cardiac surgeons in the country. His clinic in South Mumbai was regularly visited by the city celebrities, including P.C. Alexander, the Governor of Maharashtra, and Rakesh Rohan, a famous movie producer. On some days he conducts six cardiac operations and the waiting room in the clinic is always full. During the nineties, Bhattacharyya was the highest tax-paying doctor in India.
