15 Countries that Have the Largest Number of Smartphone Users in the World

This article will bring you to the list of countries that have the largest number of smartphone users in the world. Well, here’s another amazing article from Insider Monkey! Good old times, when we didn’t have mobiles, only phones at home. Yet, we could discuss and arrange everything. We agreed a date and time to meet each other, and everyone was there in time. Nevertheless without a shadow of a doubt  mobiles are extremely useful, as they ease our everyday life. I pretty like my smartphone, “half of my office” can be found on it. It’ easy to arrange everything I need to even on walking in the street. I can get in touch with distant relatives by special apps, and we don’t have huge telephone bills. All we need is a good internet connection and that’s all. But I can see that people seem to forget about human connections… I mean life-partners, husbands and wives are hanging on the internet, and especially on social media, instead of spending their spare time together.

Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three of countries that have the largest number of smartphone users in the world from their list.

The first one is South Korea.  In fact, out of the 50.7 million citizens of the country, over 36 million have a smartphone, which makes the country’s smartphone penetration rate 71.5%. If you think that’s a lot, you’re right, because it is and it’s definitely the largest on our list. However, you’ll be perhaps surprised to find out that at a global level, South Korea only ranks fourth at smartphone penetration rates, superseded by Switzerland (71.7%), Sweden (72.2%) and United Arab Emirates (80.6%). The second country on our list should be France now. Another European name on our list of countries that have the largest number of smartphone users is France. Out of the 65 million citizens, over 65.3% have a smartphone. That means there are over 42.4 million smartphones in the hexagon. The penetration rate puts France on the 16th place globally. At last, but not least let’s check out the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom follows next after its neighbor country with an even larger adoption rate. More specifically, out of the 65.5 million citizens of the United Kingdom, over 68.6% have a smartphone, which means there are close to 45 million such devices in the UK. The numbers put the UK on the tenth place globally in terms of adoption rate.
