What are the persuasive debate topics for elementary school students? It is very important that children should learn the art of debate. Having an interesting, intelligent debate with others can fresh up our minds. There are lots of interesting topics for elementary school students which can be discussed at school. Children like to argue (everyone knows that who have kid), so we should make a good use of it. These young children may not know who is the president of Mexico, or what the biggest insurance companies in the USA are, but that doesn’t meant they are not willing to have debates about things, they do know. As for me I have always loved debating and I have been happy if I can learn something from the discussion. Nevertheless the children’ favorite topics can show something deeper, because if you ask a child what he, she would like to speak about – hearing the answer you can get to know lots of things about the kid, for instance what he, she would like to be when they grow up. But of course we need to put up the right question. If we ask them, ‘Should every child have mobile phones at school?”, they will answer “yes”. But they say it because they want it, that’s all.
We have picked three topics from Insider Monkey’s list: Vacation in the mountains or vacation on the beach; Disney World or Disney Land; Woody or Buzz Lightyear. The first debate topic is about the vacation in the mountains or on the beach. Well, it can be an interesting topic even for us, because many people love hiking, while others like lying on the beach, swimming and getting a good suntan. As for me, I love both, it depends on my mood. The second topic is about Disney World or Disney Land. Well, it is an extremely exciting question for every child. I suppose there is no kid throughout the whole world who wouldn’t want to go to both places. The last debate topic is Woody or Buzz Lightyear. Well, to tell you the truth I have absolutely no idea what it means. But I think children will know, and they will be happy to have a debate about this topic.
