Let’s proceed to the list of states with the highest STD rates in the US in 2018. Insider Monkey has recently published an interesting article about it. It turned out that the list of states with highest STD rates in 2017 was pretty much the same as the list made according to the STD rates by state in 2016. As the STD Report is an official document, we decided to use their results in order to create our list. So, we checked the chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis rates in the states ranked highest in the report, and calculated the average. For the reference’s sake, we used the list for the primary and secondary syphilis. The ranking goes from the state with the lowest STD rates per 100,000 people, to the state with the highest rates on the top of the list. Some would think Florida has the highest STD rates because of all the parties. However, that is not the case – we claim, Florida is not the most sexually diseased state.
Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three states with the highest STD rates in the US in 2018 from their list.
The first one can be New York. Not just that its chlamydia and gonorrhea rates are high, but the percent of syphilis is shocking, as well. In comparison with the previous Report from 2015, the number of STD cases has increased. The second state on our short list should be Illinois. During past decade, Illinois has been on the highest positions in STD rankings. Even now, when we compare the results of research conducted in 2015, we could see that all of the above mentioned STD rates have increased. For example, syphilis rate back then was 8.4. At last, but not least we are mentioning South Carolina. Even though the South Carolina took big steps in order to fight with the STDs, the situation has not changed much. What’s more, the rates have increased since the year 2015. For example, syphilis rate back then was 6.1.
