These young children may not know who is the president of Mexico, or what the biggest insurance companies in the USA are, but that doesn’t meant they are not willing to have debates about things, they do know. As for me I have always loved debating and I am always happy if I can learn something from the discussion. Nevertheless the children’s favorite topics can show something deeper, because if you ask a child what he, she would like to speak about – hearing the answer you can get to know lots of things about the kid, for instance what he, she would like to be when they grow up. But of course we need to put up the right question. If we ask them, ‘Should every child have mobile phones at school?”, they will answer “yes”. But they say it because they want it, that’s all.

We have picked three topics from Insider Monkey’s list. The first one is “Is year-round schooling necessary?”This is something that probably no child would agree with as they are very fond of summer breaks and all days when there’s no school. Let’s be honest, school is not popular and year-round schooling would be a nightmare for kids. The next one is “are school uniforms are needed?” This is an old question but there will always be children who dislike them badly. Are school uniforms really necessary? It makes you wonder at least for a moment. Listening to their arguments would certainly be fun. When I was at school we had to wear uniform, and of course we hated it. But now, that I am an adult, I think it’s a good idea. Tha last topic is “should animals be kept in cages?”Children love animals. They are hardly aware of all the harm that mankind does to animals at that age (and it’s better that way) but seeing animals locked in cages bothers many of them. Should animals be free or kept in cages for our entertainment?
