The second legend says that a popular sausage (known as “dachshund” or “little dog” sausage) originated in the late 1600’s and was created by Johann Georghehner, who lived in Coburg in Germany. Johan later said that he had traveled to Frankfurt to promote his new product. The inhabitants of Vienna in 1805 introduced the term “Wiener” sausage to prove their claim that Vienna was the site of the sausage.
