5 Largest Drug Companies in the World

Now, as the whole world is paying attention to the  largest drug companies in the world, we thought it was high time to introduce them to you, therefore we have come up with Insider Monkey’s latest article. In these pandemic-stricken times, everybody croncentrates on the largest drug companies and their researchers. We can hardly wait the end of the pandemic, in order to be able to continue our everyday life where stopped earlier. Unluckily, there are thousands of people whose life stopped at a point somewhere in the middle of the battle field of coronavirus. These people are who have lost one of their beloved ones due to the COVID-19. These people are whose beloved ones lost the battle against this horrible virus.

These companies, you can see on Insider Monkey’s compilation, have been competing to firstly develop the effective vaccine against the virus. Actually, Pfizer seems to have won this competition, as in the beginning of November it announced to have been able to develop a very promising vaccine. This vaccine is 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in Phase 3 clinical trials. As we got to know from Insider Monkey’s research, the vaccine candidate’s Phase3 clinical trial began in July and has included 43,538 participants out of whom 38,955 had already received a second dose by November. Naturally, the largest companies are in the first line to research other diseases, too, such as Ebola, Swine Flu etc.

For today we have picked up two companies from the entire list of Insider Monkey. Firstly, here’s Merck & Co.(NYSE:MRK) with its considerable amount of revenue of $47,347 million. Its involved in treatment diseases, such as HIV and Ebola, and naturally prevention is among its main targets. Secondly, Novartis (NYSE:NVS) has come up to the second spot on the compilation with its jaw-dropping revenue of $49,584 million.
