6 Best Part-time Coding Bootcamps in NYC

Keep reading about the best part-time coding bootcamps in NYC. Insider Monkey has recently published an interesting article about this topic. When it comes to coding, there are just so many programming languages out there, that it might be difficult to pick just one. If you’re passionate about one of them in specific, you should look for classes regarding those exactly. In the meantime, we searched for bootcamps that offer part-time courses in a multitude of languages.

Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked two bootcamps from their list.

The first one is Fullstack Academy. It offers its Flex Immersive part-time program in the hopes of helping the world’s future software engineers. The entire idea behind the program is to help students who prefer not to leave their day jobs in their hunt for their next big coding job. However, they need to be prepared to learn quite a bit in the 24 weeks the course stretches over. Students will learn about front-end development of both web and mobile applications, study HTML5 and CSS, or delve into back-end development by learning JavaScript. They’ll also learn about SQL databases, Redis or Mongo, as well as other real-world coding tools, such as Git, Github and more. The on-campus portion of the course requires attendance 3 weeknights per week, as well as for 1 immersive weekend per month, when students spend all day Saturday and Sunday on campus. Of course, these all add to the remote classes students still have to take. The tuition for the Flex Immersive course cost $15,680, with $1,000 being deduced for women as part of a scholarship that seeks to encourage more women to become a part of the tech workforce.

The second one is Byte Academy. It offers multiple courses, such as Python 101 for data science (3 weeks), Python Fullstack (24 weeks), Data Science: databases and big data, or Data Science (8 weeks), the fundamentals of machine learning (3 weeks), as well as other similar courses. However, for the sake of this list we decided to tackle Python since it’s an actual programming language, as opposed to the other courses that are addressed to people who are already working in those fields and seek to better understand it.

While the regular Python Fullstack, where attendance is full-time, lasts for 12 weeks, the part-time course takes 24 weeks, with two days per week spent in class for three hours, in the evening. Tuition is the same for both types of bootcamps – $14,950, which will be reimbursed to the students if they are not hired within 6 months of graduation. The curriculum emphasizes Python, but there are also instructions regarding JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3 and so on. Classes are held in midtown Manhatten, near Grand Central.
