As for me, I tried cigarette when I was five, I think. My elder brother encouraged me, and we smoked from our father’s cigarettes. It was horrible. I coughed, my eyes were in tears. However, my father smoked one of the strongest cigarettes ever. It is a well-known fact that smoking can cause lung cancer, and many other serious and fatal diseases.  In addition, their advertising has decreased compared to previous years, as well as the sales rate, according to Federal Trade Commission Cigarettes Report from 2013. However, even though the public is well introduced with anti-smoking campaigns and movements, there are still a big number of smokers all over the world. I am afraid I smoke, too. It is very interesting because I began smoking only three years ago. I smoke menthol flavored cigarettes, which is eventually the most popular flavor.

We have picked two cigarettes brands from Insider Monkey’s list: Winston and L&M. Winston is American brand of cigarettes that according to our research is shown as one of the worst ones to smoke. It was firstly introduced by R.J. Reynolds in 1954, but today the owner is the ITG Brands LLC for the US, whereas outside of it, it is owned and marketed by Japan Tobacco. Price for one carton is around $30. Company Ligget & Mayers created L&M in 1953, and now they are produced by Altria Group, Inc., previously known as Philip Morris Companies, Inc. What is interesting about this brand is that it was one of the first ones that produced cigarettes with a filter that wasn’t one sided. In the US, there are many varieties concerning flavor, size and strength. Depending on which pack of L&M you choose, price varies from $16 to $23.50.
