As for me, I tried cigarette when I was five, I think. May elder brother encouraged me, and we smoked from our father’s cigarettes. It was horrible. I coughed, my eyes were in tears. However, my father smoked one of the strongest cigarettes ever. It is a well-known fact that smoking can cause lung cancer, and many other serious and fatal diseases. In addition, their advertising has decreased compared to previous years, as well as the sales rate, according to Federal Trade Commission Cigarettes Report from 2013. However, even though the public is well introduced with anti-smoking campaigns and movements, there are still a big number of smokers all over the world. I am afraid I smoke, too. It is very interesting because I began smoking only three years ago. I smoke menthol flavored cigarettes, which is eventually the most popular flavor.
We have picked two cigarettes brands from Insider Monkey’s list: Kool and Newport Menthol. Kool is a brand of menthol cigarettes that are produced by ITG Brands LLC. They were introduced in 1933 and back then they were the first popular menthol cigarettes. Now there are many types varying in size and flavor. Outside of the US they are produced by British American Tobacco. Newport was just a brand of menthol cigarettes until 2000, when they started producing regular ones, as well. Its first owner was Lorillard Tobacco Company, from 1957. Then, the brand was bought by R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Although menthol cigarettes should smell less, this brand is not favored among smokers nor non-smokers, because of its unusual smell. I smoke menthol flavored cigarettes, and although I have never tried Newport Menthol, it was strange for me that it is one of the worst smelling ones.
