9 Countries with the Lowest Teenage Pregnancies in the World

What do you think what are the countries with the lowest teenage pregnancy rates in the world? Or which country is the most responsible related to their sexual attitude? Among other issues, teenage pregnancy is a difficult and burning question throughout the whole world. Children begin their sexual life at younger and younger age. It’s a serious problem itself, but if we consider the undesirable pregnancies we can see that something must be done urgently in this quesion, too.

Otherwise we must mention that teen pregnancy rates appear to decrease in the last decades. Taking the US rates into consideration we can say that teenage pregnancy rate declined by 63% between 1990 and 2013. It’s very good news we can say, but – as still there are lots of teenagers that face to teenage pregnancy and abortion – that’s not enough. Nevertheless this statistics shows that children are getting to be aware of what they do and also the contraception methods. What’s more not only is the teenage pregnancy the problem, but spreading STDs as well. Large numbers of teenage pregnancies end up with abortion which has large risks concerning to serious health consequences, and sometimes death. Insider Monkey have investigated for us that in 2017 there were more than 25 million unsafe abortion throughout the whole world which is an extremely high number. What’s more 97% of them happened in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Although these countries may not surprise anyone. Therefore we can say that teenage  pregnancies occur in the third world in the biggest number, such as Mozambique, Mali, Angola, or Niger. The reasons for this sorrowful statistics are the rough social norms which generally means forced child marriages, short of the women education, and gender discrimination. But these reasons are not only those mentioned above, as we can see that there are teenage pregnancies in the developed countries as well. For instance according to a statistics since 2001 has shown that about 22% of US women had a child before they had their 20th birthday. This rate is 6% in France, 11% in Canada, 15% in UK.

Now we can see a very arresting list article from Insider Monkey again that is edifying to check out, as every country has issues with teenage pregnancy. We hardly need to say that sex education and prevention are the most important thing we have to do. The Scandinavian countries for example are on the top of the sexual education, as they have educated their students in this topic for decades! It’s really worth taking an example from them, and emphasize the importance of prevention.

Now without a further ado, let’s see what Insider Monkey brought to us for today about the countries with the lowest teenage pregnancy rates in the world.
