Woodworking can be quite a complicated craft but it can be learned and mastered with enough practice. There are entities that offer woodworking classes in NYC and NJ to which you can search for classes for beginners and later on, level up as you gain more skills.

In order to create their list, Insider Monkey consulted Class Curious’ database as their source to see where woodworking classes can be found in New York and New Jersey. We have picked three classes from Insider Monkey’s list for now.

The owner and founder of Bien Hecho Academy is John Randall.  Tuesday and Thursday night is the schedule for the introduction to woodworking classes. All you need is to have a creative mind on what furniture you want to make or anything that would be useful in your daily living. Not only is woodworking done here at Craftsman Ave, but it will also introduce you to soap making, a brush lettering workshop, floral design, jewelry making, custom motorcycle build and much more.  Their classes are small in size which would be an advantage so each person can mingle with each other and get plenty of instruction. These are all hands-on classes and are taught by local creatives or makers and designers. At last but not least we mention American Woodcarving School. Clay and woodcarving are the main classes available here at American Woodcarving School. They also have watercolor painting and pyrography. Sculptor Micahel Denike founded the school in 1974. They also have weekend seminars if you can’t make it during the week. Instructors come from all over the world, including the U.S., Europe, and Canada and are renowned woodcarvers.
