7 Unique Dance Classes for Adults in NYC

Where can you find unique dance classes for adults in NYC? Keep reading the article of Insider Monkey, and you will get the answers.  As long as you gain the necessary skills, you can express anything through dance – whether that’s love, grief, disappointment, excitement, hate, and so on. It may be difficult, but in the end, it’s what makes dance so special – you get to spark emotion into people just by dancing in front of them. They get to interpret your movements on their own and, sometimes, even if they may not grasp your own intention behind it all, it’s only because they have other personal issues that are more pressing and they view their own problems instead of your own. Personally I learned folk dances when I was young and I pretty enjoyed it.

Now without a further ado let’s see what Insider Monkey has investigated for us. We have picked three unique dance classes for adults in NYC from their list.

The first one is Broadway Dance Center. The Broadway Dance Center in New York City may very well be one of the best-known studios. One of the coolest parts of it is that since it offers about 350 classes each week, sometimes taught by some of the world’s best teachers and choreographers, you can drop in any time you feel like dancing for a while and learning a new choreography. The studio offers classes for all skill levels, in multiple styles, including jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, theater, and street styles, whether that’s hip hop, vogueing, jazz funk, or breaking. The Broadway Dance Center practices class rates that put a single drop-in class at $22. The price goes down some when you buy larger class packages. For instance, for five classes which you can take within two weeks of purchase, you have to pay $95, while a 10-class package costs $185 if the pass expires within a month, or $195 if it expires in 2 months. A 20-class pack that expires in 3 months costs $370. The second class is Ajna Dance. On top of the aforementioned styles, the Anja Dance studio also teaches Gujarati folk dance, cardio dance, as well as yoga-movements. The drop-in classes cost $20 per session, and there’s a full schedule available on the studio’s website. There’s also the possibility to book multiple-week packages. For instance, for 14 weeks of Bollywood and Bhangra, you’ll have to pay $20, which saves you quite a few bucks. There are several locations where you can enjoy these classes, including the East Village, Midtown West, or the Upper West Side.
